In honor of National Nutrition Month, Midwest Dairy Council aims to help fill nutrition gaps by educating consumers about dairy's unique nutrient package
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — March 1, 2010 — When it comes to dietary nutrients, most consumers don't know the whole story. A recent study by the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy revealed that the fact that milk delivers much more than calcium to the diet is new "news" to consumers.

PARENTS URGED TO 'MAKE CHANGE TO SAVE CHANGE' AT BACK-TO-SCHOOL TIME
Packing more milk, cheese and yogurt into meals and snacks is an economical way to ensure kids aren't short-changed on nutrition.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. ― July 22, 2009 ― A return to hectic school-year schedules puts families on the go and may cause kids to miss out on key nutrients. A recent report in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition showed Americans are short-changing themselves on nutrients. To address the shortfall, the Midwest Dairy Council challenges parents to consider easy food changes that help address nutrition deficiencies without breaking the bank. Parents are urged to make change by consuming more dairy products, which helps to save change in their wallets, and ensures they aren't short-changed on nutrition. For example, at just 25 cents per glass, milk provides one of the richest sources of well-absorbed calcium in the American diet. Plus it contains eight other essential nutrients, including vitamin D that helps enhance
calcium absorption.

KANSAS CITY, MO. — May 13, 2009 — Consumers are shifting priorities when making grocery purchase decisions in the current economy, according to a new survey released by the Midwest Dairy Council. According to the April survey† of 1,002 people, more than half of consumers say price, not nutrition, is the most important factor when grocery shopping in this economic climate.
